“
As a matter of principle, Ferrari will not agree
” to pay a ransom, “
because paying such demands would finance criminal activities and allow threat actors to perpetuate their attacks
,” the manufacturer points out.
This cyberattack “
has had no impact on the operations of our company
”, assures Ferrari.
Upon receipt of the ransom demand, “
we immediately launched an investigation in cooperation with a leading international cybersecurity company
” and “
informed the competent authorities
”, adds the manufacturer.
CEO Benedetto Vigna sent a letter to customers of the prestigious Prancing Horse brand informing them of the incident.
The manufacturer delivered a total of 13,221 cars worldwide last year, up 18.5%.
