The chairman of the Histadrut Arnon Bar David announced this morning (Monday) an immediate shutdown of the economy if the legislation is not stopped for a legal coup. Bar David called to "stop the madness", in a special press conference he convened alongside the top officials of the economy. This shutdown includes many bodies and institutions, and in the hall were present Many senior officials such as the Chairman of the Medical Association Prof. Zion Hagai and other heads of large bodies.

A less expected presence was that of the CEOs of the banks. In a rare show of unity with the Histadrut, the five CEOs sat in the hall: CEO of the International Bank Barbara Tsadik, CEO of Bank Hapoalim Dov Kotler, CEO of Mizrahi Tefahot Moshe Larry, CEO To Bank Leumi Hanan Friedman, CEO of Discount Uri Levy. This joining of hands is historic, as in the past there were always differences between the banks and the Histadrut.
