Until a few decades ago, the memory of the Holocaust and heroism was part of the Israeli way of life.

The survivors walked among us.

They were relatively young people who marveled at rebuilding their lives and it seems that in most cases the main problem was how to get them to talk, tell and share.

In recent decades - and even more so in recent years, the number of survivors has begun to dwindle.

Today there are less than 150,000 survivors in Israel and from this number thousands are lost every year.

As a result, many companies considered themselves responsible for preserving the memory of the Holocaust.

Some of them did this through activities among their employees and hosted Holocaust survivors who would tell their stories, some of them integrated it into their field of work and became partners in technological solutions that would help preserve the memory.

We have collected some such examples.

Silverfort Cyber Company

At the Silverfort cyber company, which develops a platform to protect user authentication and enables organizations to prevent cyber attacks that make use of stolen identities.

They chose to take part in the 'Remembrance in the Living Room' project and host on the eve of Holocaust Day Ilana Nachsoni, a 83-year-old Holocaust survivor who was born in Poland and immigrated to Israel in 1947. Ilana is the grandmother of an employee of the Silverport company, so she decided to come and tell the story of the heroism she experienced.

The meeting will take place at the company's offices in Hajj Towers in Tel Aviv.

Moran Tziper, co-CEO of the Living Room Remembrance

and one of the founders of the project: "We were very excited to see Silverport's choice to take responsibility for the Holocaust memorial and hold a memorial in the living room at the office.

We were especially happy that one of the employees in the company turned to her grandmother, Holocaust survivor Ilana Nachsoni, and asked her to come and tell the story in the company.

Transferring the story from the survivors to future generations is a national mission.

In a reality where about 40 Holocaust survivors die every day, we must ensure that every survivor has a living room in which to tell their story and encourage as many of the following generations as possible to carry the torch of memory and promise to keep the memory alive and relevant.

The mobilization of the business sector, just like Silverport did, shows how the economic locomotive of the economy can also be the social locomotive and make the world a better place that lights the way."
