Considering the development of express shopping delivery in France is a bit like watching a fast-paced film: the viewer goes almost seamlessly from exposition to outcome.
Barely two years ago, a dozen start-ups of all nationalities set up in France, promising consumers home shopping delivery in less than 15 minutes.
The French Cajoo, the Germans Gorillas and Flink or even the Turkish Getir were among those pioneers who meshed French cities with their mini-warehouses - the famous "dark stores" -, installed instead of mini-markets or bank branches.
Giant advertisements in the metro, recruitment of employees at hefty prices, generous discounts to win over customers: start-ups have spared no expense in developing the express shopping delivery market in France, and grabbing the bet by taking the lead of the peloton.
