Everyone is guilty except for Smotrich: the stories of the Grandmaster of the Minister of Finance - voila! Of money

The cottage, the Israeli symbol of the cost of living, is getting more expensive - and the finance minister found the culprits: the previous government. Maybe it's time for Netanyahu and his ministers to start taking responsibility for what happens on their watch?

Remember the tent protest from July 2011, at the center of which was the cottage as a symbol of the cost of living?

Well, since then Tnuva has not dared to raise the price of the Cottage Cup, which in the 12 years that have passed since then stands at 6 shekels, and no more.

This is not a trivial matter, because the cottage is an unsupervised product and there was rampant prices all around.

But this week, in the sixth Netanyahu government, the one that promised to address the cost of living, next week this record will also be broken: on Monday, cottage prices will rise above NIS 6 for the first time.

The convening of the summer session of the Knesset this week finally allowed the Netanyahu government to begin - four months late - to address the cost of living.

Let it be said right away: the hope that the move will reduce the height of the flames that rose from the streets and divert attention from the demonstrations against the legal revolution, is nothing but an illusion.

The demonstrations, it seems, have already become a standing order.

Who is really running a false campaign?

As usual with the Minister of Finance, Yokar is also handled in a roomy way that includes Haltora solutions.

This does not prevent him, of course, from claiming against the media that it is waging a cynical fight against him and a false campaign, and not only the media is to blame for the cost of living, but of course the government of change as well.

"We managed to curb the increase in the price of milk. It was not easy after the irresponsible conduct of Lapid and Lieberman. Despite the agreement signed by Lieberman that dragged out the right to increase the price, the dairies agreed to spread the increase in price," the Minister of Finance claimed this week.

These are grandmother's stories, or in the Oxford English of the Minister of Finance: 'grandmaizer stories'.

Semtorich blatantly violated a signed government agreement with the dairies, which was signed in the opinion of all the finance people.

and withdrew only after he realized that they might go to court as a result.

Perhaps Smotrich hopes that after the legal revolution is completed, which will turn judges into judges, a commercial entity will not dare to resort to legal remedies against administrative injustices, since no judge who owes his seat to a politician will rush to rule against him.

Semtorich probably managed to forget the compliments he showered on Avigdor Lieberman, his predecessor in the post, at the ministerial exchange ceremony.

There were good reasons for the compliments: Lieberman did not leave behind a full treasury, but also the beginning of reforms designed to increase competition.

But even if we accept the finance minister's claim that the mechanism for raising the price of milk is a legacy from the previous government - where exactly was he for 4 months?

And when he wanted to abolish the tax on sugary drinks, he easily reversed the previous government's decision.

is not it?

So who is really running a false campaign - and is the previous government responsible for the situation?

The story of the "free dormitories" for children aged 0-3 is widely reviewed this week after it was pulled from the hip following the collapse of the Likud in the polls.

But the claim to call it "free dormitory" is misleading.

Who is entitled to a "free" dormitory?

Wanted: Accountant for residence eligibility

In the best case, this solution will (only from next year of course) be relevant to 25% of the children.

The middle class, for example, was almost completely excluded from the benefit.

Even then, it is not really "free", and in general - due to the haste to present a false representation of a war on the cost of living, an outline is drawn up that one needs to be a senior accountant in order to know whether a couple of parents is entitled to it or not.

The Minister of Education claimed that the funding of the benefit already appears in the budget book and no additional budget expenditure is required.

I must admit that I, for example, did not know about this, or in other words: it is really not clear what other things are hidden in the budget book that we did not know existed.

On the issue of increasing the price of dairy products, the Minister of Finance pulled out the same solution proposed by his predecessor Lieberman: spreading the price increase as is customary in the credit card companies and transferring the future increase to the Minister of Finance in the next shift

Also on the issue of fuel prices, Semtorich continued his predecessor's policy of subsidizing gasoline.

However, while Lieberman dealt with the problem in a forced manner due to the early elections (and turning the government into a transitional government), the current finance minister has, at least on paper, four full years in office (or at least two years, until he is replaced by a Shas representative, as required by the coalition agreement) to propose a solution that will deal with the problem From the root and not a quick-fix solution.

So how is the government of change to blame for the cost of living, if the Netanyahu government apparently does exactly the same thing, but in fact does exactly the same thing? Sorry, actually not exactly. The

cost of living for Netanyahu and his economy minister, are the prices of Coca-Cola, which they have turned into a product Basic consumption This week they made Coca Cola the most urgent issue for treatment and maybe they will succeed in solving the cost of living problems among dentists.

Ministry of Finance.

The silence of the sheep of the finance officials

The Minister of Finance does not operate in a vacuum.

He brought a terrible budget to the Knesset.

Labor discounts on tax revenue are shockingly generous.

The estimate that the annual deficit will be only 0.8% is also an illusion that will soon be shattered.

A senior Treasury official estimated the actual deficit to be at least 3% of GDP, and that's even before the compensation demanded by the ultra-orthodox parties as a complaint for the postponement of the conscription law.

Why haven't we heard about it?

Because at the moment the ultra-Orthodox are not only in the government, but also in the Treasury, where the ultra-orthodox for their jobs voice their criticism of the minister's conduct in private rooms and holy fear.

Some of them, such as the Director of the Tax Authority, the Chairman of the Securities Authority, the Commissioner for the Capital Market and Insurance, the Chief Economist at the Treasury, and more, are already on their way home anyway. That is, the members of the board have no interest in confronting the minister, on whose side they count less and less. They were surprised by the announcement at the

party The journalists on the issue of the dormitories The proposal to update the biennial budget and bring it to a vote in the Knesset in the event of a substantial deviation was rejected outright.

Therefore, on the one hand, one should not envy the finance minister who had to show the flexibility of a ballet dancer in the Bolshoi in order to survive.

But on the other hand, he must not sob and blame the media or the previous government for the illnesses for which the current government is directly responsible.

For example, the direct connection that exists between the decrease in tax revenues and the legal revolution, which at this stage does not go out of the way.

Moreover, the warnings to reduce the credit rating are also listed in the tabu in the name of the Netanyahu government.

So are the increased ultra-Orthodox budgets without core studies, the unbearable delay in dealing with the housing market and the continued rise in prices - all of these are the responsibility of the current government.

So maybe we can ask the Minister of Finance not to tell us grandmaster stories?
