Application denied. The administrative court of Lyon has decided to maintain the prefectural decree prohibiting demonstrations, rallies and processions in the district of Lyon where Emmanuel Macron is expected this Monday, May 8. The appeal filed by the CGT in protest against the establishment of a perimeter of prohibition has therefore not borne fruit.
According to Samuel Delor, of the departmental union CGT of the Rhône and the metropolis of Lyon, this summary liberty was rejected by the judge "by order" and without hearing.
On Sunday, the prefecture had taken the decision to ban this gathering to commemorate the social heritage planned by the inter-union around the former prison of Montluc, where the head of state must pay tribute to Jean Moulin, as the 80th anniversary of his arrest by the Gestapo approaches.

A security perimeter has been set up with, in particular, the prohibition of "processions, parades and protest rallies," said the prefecture.
The CGT announced that a rally would take place, but on the edge of the perimeter of prohibition. "We maintain a call to commemorate the social work of the Resistance while making the link with the fact that we can not commemorate and trample on the social heritage," said Samuel Delor on BFMTV, which denounces a "scandalous and restrictive side in terms of public freedoms".
💬 "We will comply with it and we will make our commemoration outside the perimeter" of security

On Saturday, another demonstration against the pension reform was also banned by the prefecture. But the administrative court of Lyon, seized by the organizers, had finally authorized it. Surrounded by a large police force, it had gathered some 650 people.
