The first committed and sustainable French jewelry
JEM, for Jewellery Ethically Minded, stems from a passion, that of Dorothée Contour. Raised in a family sensitive to creation, beauty and progress, it is natural that she turns to entrepreneurship. His meeting with the Alliance for Responsible Mining and the Fairmined label was a trigger: the stakes around gold mining are real. We are in 2010 and Dorothée joins the YWAM adventure, before becoming its President, to breathe new jewelry, bearer of hope and offering a virtuous and deeply aesthetic face. JEM then became the first French jewelry brand to be ethical. The classic codes of the industry are diverted, redesigned so that the jewel has meaning. Contemporary and sustainable, it is the result of an assertive and sincere approach to ethics. The JEM House sources precious materials respectful of Men and Nature for a 100% French manufacture. Also, the jewels benefit from transparent traceability, and at each stage of its manufacture. This philosophy extends beyond the jewel itself, and concerns its case just as much.
A modern, timeless and singular signature
For JEM, this responsible approach does not exclude the aesthete from its jewels. On the contrary, the House fashions jewels inspired by architecture. Between art and functionality, the creations have fun playing with shapes and volumes in motion to give rise to jewels that inspire freedom. Minimalist, but strong, the pieces cross our lives with an almost innocent sobriety. This balance of contrasts reflects the desire to transmit a unique identity. Jewels that reflect our personality, that diffuse a frank elegance while expressing a singular power. JEM assumes its signature, cultivates this bias so that jewelry changes course: shine, express itself and free itself from codes.
Precious materials that respect the world
Always in this responsible approach, JEM works with exceptional materials that respect the values defended by the House:
— Farimined ethical gold is produced by mining communities and honors strict eco-responsible standards of transparency, governance, environmental protection and social commitment. A symbol of hope for the sector, this gold contributes to local human and economic development.
— The cultured diamond combines innovation and nature to be an alternative to the diamond of mines. Aesthetic and vibrant, this unique material is formed in the laboratory under natural conditions to embody a new generation of diamonds. As a stone, the cultured diamond is strictly identical to the mine diamond, except that it is totally traced, respects the environment and people.
— The pearl of Fiji inspires beauty and the ocean. Coming from carefully chosen pearl farms, this pearl with intense colors is renowned for the quality of its mother-of-pearl as well as for its respect for marine ecosystems.
The YWAM collections merge to translate a signature apart, visionary and timeless. The wedding line, with its wedding rings and engagement rings, is one of the House's strengths. It is possible to discover them in a Parisian boutique, in the heart of the Saint-Honoré district, as well as in a showroom in Lyon.
