B-part, the "one-stop-shop" of financial players
Launched in 2012 by Kenza Berrada and Jean-Jacques Le Bon, B-Part Consulting is a consulting boutique that has adopted a positioning of a true "one-stop-shop" for the creation of banks and FinTechs, turnkey.
Its initial mission was to support banks (credit institutions) in their scale-up to the international. In this sense, the firm has structured itself into two Business Units: the Strategy and Banking Regulation BU, in charge of obtaining approvals from the relevant regulators in continental Europe, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and North Africa, and the Business BU, which defines and develops the operational, technical and financial resources necessary for the creation of a financial institution (Credit Institution, Electronic Money or Payment Institution).
From now on, the firm positions itself as a facilitating actor for any project involving the provision of financial services, mobilizing in particular the various required expertise (regulation, tech. & IT security, finance, risks, compliance, etc.), in order to best support and advise its clients. B-Part Consulting therefore masters the technical, operational and regulatory aspects, and is able to support these new projects in a transversal way, thus avoiding the logic of silos.
Building bridges between institutional players and the FinTech ecosystem
Beyond its core expertise, B-part Consulting facilitates exchanges between institutional players (banking, insurance, etc.) and the emerging FinTech ecosystem, in the context of collaborations, M&A operations or industrial partnerships.
Indeed, more and more institutional players are considering FinTechs as vectors of commercial, technological or financial opportunities. Strategic and capitalistic partnerships are on the rise, even if the main obstacle remains the ability to converge diametrically opposed worlds and cultures. In this context, the firm intervenes at the crossroads of these two worlds as a facilitator, having the conviction that in addition to the market consolidation movement, we are witnessing the emergence of a collaboration between these institutions, who will play the role of producers of financial services, and Fintechs who, for their part, will be the privileged contact of end customers on the market.
B-part distinguished itself with the creation of Banque de Léman for the Caisse d'Epargne Rhône Alpes and the obtaining of ACPR approval for Shine
The B-Part teams achieved their first success through the creation, in 2014, of a Swiss credit institution, Banque du Léman, a subsidiary of the Caisse d'Epargne Rhône-Alpes, starting from the blank page. In addition, they have also launched a new brand structured around a complete offer for cross-border customers, based on phygital distribution (physical and digital).
Finally, B-Part also distinguished itself during the creation of Shine, by building its Payment Institution approval file and by constituting its operational procedures, in particular its integration into Société Générale's system (governance, procedures, compliance system, etc.), following the acquisition of a stake by the latter.
