Quantum Source Labs, which develops groundbreaking technology for the realization of photonic quantum computers, today announced the addition of former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett as a member of the company's board of directors. The company said, "Bennett's skills and vast experience will assist the company in its mission to advance groundbreaking quantum computing technologies and shape the future of the entire field."
Bennett explained: "Quantum computing is a technology with significant potential to advance our world and influence our lives. As a high-tech nation, Israel has the opportunity to lead in this innovative and groundbreaking field. I believe that the Quantum Source team will play a significant role in leading the development and advancement of the field."
Quantum Source is at the forefront of the quantum computing revolution, developing innovative photonic quantum technologies. By leveraging the power of quantum bits (qubits), quantum computing offers unprecedented computational speed and the potential to solve complex problems in various fields.
The company is developing technology that will enable the realization of photonic quantum computers with millions of qubits, which are resistant to errors (fault tolerant). To date, companies have succeeded in building and demonstrating small quantum computers with tens to hundreds of qubits. These computers are based on groundbreaking technology, but due to their size, they still have no substantial commercial use.
Oded Melamed, Co-Founder and CEO of Quantum Source: "We welcome Naftali Bennett to the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Bennett shares our vision that quantum computing technologies have the potential to make a difference in many areas that are important to our lives. Mr. Bennett has a rich technological and entrepreneurial background and broad and deep international experience. His joining the effort is of significant value to the company, as we advance to break the boundaries of familiar technology."
Quantum Source has raised $27 million in a seed round from Grove Ventures, Pitango First, Eclipse, Dell Technologies Capital, and 10D. It is one of the largest seed rounds in quantum computing.
