The incident was reported on social media. Shared on Twitter this Sunday afternoon, videos show a vehicle on fire, at Charles-de-Gaulle airport, near Paris. In one of the images, we see a large column of black smoke near Charles-de-Gaulle airport, near Paris. "The smoke outside comes from an electric bus on fire," explains a voice coming from "Air France", in this publication, reports the user behind the message. Other videos also show smoke, from the sky, or the ground.

Contacted by us, the ADP group specifies that the column of smoke came from a "fire on a tourist bus external to the airport". The vehicle caught fire "on the road accesses in front of Terminal 2E", it is explained, without confirming, however, if it was indeed an electric bus or not. The machine was empty, with no driver or passenger, and there were no injuries, the company added. The incident was quickly brought under control, thanks to the intervention of the fire brigade, and the situation is now "resolved": road access has been reopened, and the fire has had no impact on airport traffic.

In recent months, several cases of burning electric buses have been reported by the authorities, such as in Carcassonne, or in the Paris region. In April 2022, RATP even had to withdraw 149 vehicles from service, after two cases of fires in one month. More recently, at the beginning of May, a hybrid bus of the Ile-de-France company had also caught fire, on the ring road, without causing any injuries.
