The SNCF is first and foremost about trains. But the group is also a giant in the field of real estate. "SNCF Immobilier is the second largest landowner in France, behind the state," said Katayoune Panahi, CEO of SNCF Immobilier. The figures are impressive: the company, a 100% subsidiary of SNCF, manages 30,000 hectares, has a portfolio of 8 million square meters of buildings, representing 100,000 homes. Its first mission remains linked to the business of its parent company. "We manage the real estate assets necessary for railway activities, whether technical rooms or offices," says Katayoune Panahi.
