The pressure is mounting. After ending the marketing of oil-fired boilers on July 1, 2022, the government is now considering banning gas-fired boilers in existing homes: 12 million households are concerned. As part of the presentation on Monday, May 22 of a plan to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, Elisabeth Borne cited the change of boilers as one of the first targeted items. Yet between 300,000 and 400,000 new ones settle each year in the country. And gas is present in every second apartment and one out of three houses.
