In light of criticism voiced against the chain on the subject, Rami Levy, CEO of the Rami Levy Shivuk Hashikma chain, is currently embarking on a first-of-its-kind program to encourage the absorption of new cashiers into the chain and improve the working conditions of the 1,300 cashiers currently employed at the chain.
The program includes scholarships for studying for an academic degree, the scholarships were worth NIS 30,000, for a period of 3 years of study for an academic degree (a grant of NIS 10,000 annually for 3 years of study). In addition, employees will enjoy 40 hours of absence from work with permission (annually) to study and take the tests for obtaining an academic degree (in order to allow examinees to take tests with peace of mind).
Cashiers enrolled in the academic degree track will be allowed to work 3/4 of a job (145 hours per month) so that they can devote time to studying.
In addition, cashiers who will work full-time (182 hours per month) and wish to complete matriculation exams, the Rami Levy Shivuk Hashikma chain will grant them a grant of NIS 9,000 for participation in preparatory courses for 3 matriculation exams (according to the terms of the grant).
At the same time, the Rami Levy Network's revolutionary program provides a benefit to discharged soldiers and those who complete national service, a NIS 6,000 scholarship to work in the Rami Levy network, valid for all types of jobs.
Rami Levy: "Our employees are the ones who drive the network, I see this move as a great privilege in contributing to paving the way for us at the network and in the labor market in general. In addition, we are examining the expansion of the program to include employees in additional positions in the network."
