In May, inflation in the City of Buenos Aires reached 7.5% – a slowdown compared to 7.8% in April – and reached 114.4% in the last twelve months, according to the Buenos Aires statistics institute. In the accumulated of the first five months, prices rose 41.1%.
The largest monthly variation occurred in the category of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, with an increase of 12.5%. This is because there was a 10% increase in the regulated price sub-segment.
Behind were alcoholic beverages and tobacco, with 8.6% and clothing and footwear, with 7.6%. All these items were above average.
