Calcalist reported this morning that the Eshkol power plant is expected to be sold for about NIS
10 billion, according to estimates cited by the newspaper (Golan Hazani) Dalia Energy and Traffic Group's offer is up to 25% higher than the second bid in the tender, which may complicate it and raise questions from the financing banks as well. The proposed amount is much higher than what was expected at the Israel Electric Corporation.

Calcalist relies on capital market assessments according to which the offer of Meshek Energy (80% of the deal) and Transport (20% of the deal) is up to 25% higher than the second bid in the OPC tender. controlled by Idan Ofer and the Noy Fund managed by Gilad Bushwitz, Pini Cohen and Ran Shalach; and that of Rafak Energy of the Generation Fund, which submitted a tender with Meir Shamir's Mivtach Shamir and the Ashtrom Group.

As is known, the tender proposals were submitted about three weeks ago but have not yet been opened. In any case, this is expected to be one of the largest deals of the year, certainly in the field of infrastructure, against the background of a renewed debate on the issue of Israel's energy production capacity, which turns out to be small compared to the growing needs of the economy.

The IEC would not comment on the news, which in any case exceeded the company's expectations. As long as the tender envelopes have not been opened, the company reasoned, there is no way to address the bids that are still in sealed envelopes.

Ashdod's Eshkol power plant relies on natural gas to produce electricity, and its acquisition is being contested by five groups, each consisting of large companies in Israel's infrastructure sector.
