Shall we sit down for coffee? An Israeli survey examined what and how much we drink/ShutterStock
Coffee is not just a drink that most of us drink at least once a day. It is the common denominator of billions of people around the globe, who enjoy the wonderful aroma of coffee every day and every hour during it.
The relationship between consumers and coffee is as unique as their preferences: coffee comes in different forms, is prepared in different ways and is consumed in different places.
According to a new survey conducted in Israel by the Shiluv Research Institute and Strauss Coffee (Elite), 76% of respondents drink coffee daily, 6% drink at least once a week, and 4% less frequently.
In contrast to the vast majority, 14% of respondents do not drink coffee at all. The survey revealed that residents of the capital city (Jerusalem) surveyed consume the most coffee daily (84% of all Jerusalemites surveyed).
The survey also examined the coffee brand perceived as the most beloved in Israel. According to the survey results, the most beloved brands are Elite Instant Coffee (27%) and Tasters Choice (27%), followed by Elite Turkish Coffee (19%).
On this issue, opinions are divided between genders, 26% of men believe that Elite Turkish Coffee is perceived as the most loved and 22% think it is Tasters Choice, on the other hand, about a third of women believe that the most beloved brand is Elite Instant Coffee and about a third believe that it is Taster Choice.
The survey also examined which brand is perceived as the most Israeli in the coffee industry. According to the respondents, the coffee brands perceived as the most Israeli are Elite Instant Coffee and Elite Turkish Coffee, with 45% and 44% respectively.
About 51% of young people aged 18-29 responded that they perceived the Turkish coffee brand as highly Israeli.
