Ella K Parfums, the house of Sonia Constant that invites you to dream. Her religion is the adventure she makes emanate from poetry. The story is all mapped out for this young luxury company, with a unique feminine touch.

Ella K is a new brand that draws its essence from travel, exploration and feminine boldness. Behind these intoxicating creations? Sonia Constant, the universal nose of the house who officiates as "Senior Perfumer" at Givaudan since 1999. His 24 years with the world n°1 have allowed him to acquire an (almost total) mastery of scents, their associations and the high-flying technologies used. After having created for great designers such as Armani, Jimmy Choo, Narciso Rodriguez, Valentino and Jean-Paul Gaultier, Sonia Constant launched her own brand in 2017 with the agreement of her employer, for whom she still collaborates in parallel.

The world's first Master Parfumer woman to found her perfume brand

Conceived as a novel, a tale of curiosities of the world, Ella K Parfums is a brand that cultivates travel as a state of mind to intoxicate beyond borders. In a philosophical line, its founder invites an introspective stripping to understand who we really are. The small startup from Switzerland continues its journey around the world, honoring all countries as long as they are far away. Its name pays tribute to the great explorers of history such as Ella Maillart, Karen Blixen and Alexandra David-Neel. In a world where olfactory is exclusively owned by men, Sonia Constant becomes the first woman "Master Parfumer" in the world to create her own perfume brand. The "K" refers to his Czech origins and particularly to his grandfather, a great traveler from Africa. Since her early childhood, the designer has been immersed in the spirit of discovery and freedom.

Capturing and transcribing scents around the world

A spirit that she transcribes with great elegance and poetry, in a catalog of 13 luxury perfumes at 240 € per bottle of 100 ml. From the woody around the Baobab ("Cry of the Kalahari"), to the musky mineral and its notes of rose ("Memory of Daisen In"), through the solar powdered with Acacia ("Reflection on the Okavango") or the sulphurous Camelia K, the latest novelty in the catalog. Designed around the Red Camellia, a flower found in Sapa in Vietnam, this perfume is an ode to temptation inspired by the film "In the Mood for Love" by Wong Kar Wai... Each of the fragrances tells a moment, drawn from a journey. To create them, the designer uses Givaudan's "Scent Trek" technology, which consists of capturing smells (flowers, trees, leaves, ocean, sand) via a pumping system with a glass bell to take them with you. A meticulous technology that requires about 2 hours to suck odorous molecules in the wild.

A bouquet of poetry, elegance and delicacy

To go even further in this approach, Sonia Constant uses "synaesthesia" which consists in transforming the senses into other senses. This is how she translates what she sees into a smell: the dryness of the desert, the humidity of Halong Bay, the clamors of the jungle, the colors of a bamboo forest, and the sound of the wind that makes them bend ... With a touch of sweetness, Sonia Constant goes so far as to ask the Japanese artist Senjiro Nakata, from the Ukiyo-e movement, to illustrate drawings for each of her perfumes. The packaging, too, has been carefully thought out. Each perfume is accompanied by a love poem. The Ella K bottles become a work in their own right. At the crossroads of olfactory storytelling and decorative art. The attention to detail is well and truly assured. The perfumes are to be found in major luxury perfumeries (see the list of online retailers) and soon on the eshop from July.
