From protégé of François Mitterrand to number three in the Valls government, from the second round of the presidential election to the Poitou-Charentes region, Ségolène Royal (born Marie-Ségolène Royal) has valiantly built her political career. A convinced socialist, a student at the École nationale d'administration (ENA), in the same class as François Hollande (who would become her husband), she joined the National Assembly in the late 1980s, officially making her way into the government until her ouster from her post as ambassador for the Arctic and Antarctic poles in 2020.
