Cancer treatments are often cumbersome and can have a significant impact on patients' self-image and quality of life. While these women are going through moments of great vulnerability, Belle & Bien offers them a space of kindness and comfort, and allows them to regain some of their femininity and self-confidence.
Guillaume Adam, General Delegate of the Belle & Bien association, explains: "The Belle & Bien workshops and classes offer care and advice adapted to the individual needs of each patient. This includes managing the side effects of treatments such as proper hydration, hair loss, eyelashes and eyebrows, healthy looking makeup.
This personalized approach allows women to have a good time, take care of themselves and remember that before they are "sick", they remain first and foremost women.
Nathalie, a patient who benefited from the services of Belle & Bien, testifies: "It was a real pleasure. I don't have hair, eyebrows or eyelashes because of chemo. Look at me with this makeup, I'm 10 years younger! You know what... I'll go out right away to show it!"
Undeniable therapeutic effects
Nathalie's experience shows how onco-aesthetic treatments are not a luxury but a necessity. They respond to real needs, play a crucial social, psychological, and educational role, and are now considered an integral component of the cancer care pathway.
"Taking care of your appearance can be a therapy in itself," confirms Guillaume.
The results speak for themselves. According to the association's data: 23.3% of participants report a significant increase in their self-confidence following their presence at a workshop or a Belle & Bien class, while 76.7% of them feel a clear improvement in their well-being."
Catherine, another beneficiary of the association's services, expresses her gratitude: "Arriving like a ball of nerves, I cried a lot during the care, too moved that someone took care of me. And afterwards, what a relief! Thank you very much for this moment of great sweetness."
"And the effects don't stop there," Guillaume continues. "After attending a workshop or class, 90% of beneficiaries say they have adopted or developed a new beauty routine... This is a testament to the lasting impact of our work."
In conclusion, the onco-aesthetic workshops of the association Belle & Bien represent more than make-up or beauty care sessions. They offer women with cancer the opportunity to feel pampered and supported in their fight against the disease. These moments also allow us to highlight their beauty and feel themselves, again.
