Highlights: The France to the challenge of producing one million heat pumps by 2027. With an annual production of 350,000 units, the goal set by Emmanuel Macron is a bet far from being won. To encourage companies to accelerate their investments, a tax credit for the sector was included in the green industry law, voted by Parliament last July. It should generate €2 billion in investment, with €300 to €400 million per year. It's not a given. "There are not enough new investment projects today," concedes the Ministry of Industry.

DECRYPTION - With an annual production of 350,000 units, the goal set by Emmanuel Macron is a bet far from being won.

Multiply the purely hexagonal production of an entire sector by three in just four years. This is the government's ambition for heat pumps, revealed by President Emmanuel Macron when he detailed the ambitions of his ecological planning, Monday, September 25. Today, around 350,000 heat pumps are manufactured annually in France. The goal is to reach 1 million units by 2027. It's not a given. "There are not enough new investment projects today," concedes the Ministry of Industry. To achieve this, a vigorous policy of support for the establishment of new factories will be put in place quickly.
