Production is at a standstill at Volkswagen's German plants, including the group's headquarters in Wolfsburg, due to a major computer outage that has affected the automaker since midday, a spokesman said Monday.

VW brand factories are at a standstill in Germany," spokesman Christian Schiebold said in the evening. In addition to Wolfsburg, the group's largest plant, the sites in Emden, Zwickau, Osnabrück and Dresden are also affected by this problem, the cause of which has not yet been identified.
