I was very enthusiastic about the idea of having a second home by the sea," says Jocelyne, who bought a small house of 64 m² in Le Tréport (Seine-Maritime), in 2020. The sexagenarian dreamed of this pied-à-terre with a garden and swimming pool when she moved into an apartment, following her divorce. The retired administrative and financial director had just left her main residence in Beauvais, in the Oise. "I missed nature," she recalls.
After visiting a first house, she sets her sights on the second property. "I bought it in cash, it was not expensive: 80,000 euros. A price that was explained by the work that had to be done." Passionate about decoration, Jocelyne is not afraid to embark on a construction site. By signing her deed of purchase, the young retiree who then realizes the dream of 4 out of 10 French people, according to a survey conducted by the Elabe Institute for Crédit Foncier, does not imagine that it is only a short parenthesis in her life.
