While the latest estimates suggested a mechanical increase in property tax of 4.2%, it should ultimately be a little lower. The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), which determines each year the rate of revaluation of the rental bases used to calculate property tax, was 3.8% year-on-year in November, according to provisional data from INSEE. The final figure is expected in mid-December.
