Statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. November 2, 2023/Haaretz, Hadas Frosh
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced that the compensation outline for businesses throughout the country would be extended to December. The decision requires the approval of the Finance Committee. According to Smotrich's announcement, the decision was made after an in-depth discussion held today at the Ministry of Finance.
Smotrich is currently speaking at the Knesset plenum and calling for approval of the state budget. On the issue of claims of biased budgeting, which even these days prefers coalition needs over the needs of the state, Smotrich said, "There is an excellent budget here of national and professional responsibility, an expansive policy, and you are small people who are at odds between the ultra-Orthodox and the secular, you are stuck on the sixth of October."
"This is a false populist campaign, stop the scrambled populism, there are a lot of good things in the budget. Those who vote against vote against health and well-being. You gave a thousand times in the previous government that you established to Mansour Abbas and Ra'am."
"You are not ashamed to vote against this good and responsible budget, and as far as you are concerned, the evacuees will sleep on mattresses.
Such a good budget and you are unable to overcome your hatred of the ultra-Orthodox, you have given many times more to the supporters of terror, I am proud of this budget. The Israeli public will see you voting against a good and responsible budget."
