Let's focus on renewable energy. European funding is clearly directed towards solar and wind power generation. Sorégies, "a local energy company", has just been granted €250 million in financing by the European Investment Bank (EIB), as part of the InvestEU programme, a support programme for sustainable, innovative and job-creating investments.

The group produces and markets renewable energy and charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. It is also the operator of the electricity and gas distribution network in the Vienne region. Sorégies had a turnover of €1.5 billion last year and employs 460 people. The EIB loan will contribute half to its €500 million investment plan for the period 2024-2026.
