Washington coach Scott Brooks referred to the difficult period of Abdia and the importance of the stars in his personal progress

Danny Abdia returned to score tonight (Tuesday-Wednesday) in double digits after 14 rather weak games, in Washington’s 125-111 home loss to Memphis.
Before the game, his coach Steve Brooks addressed Abdia's relationship with the team's star duo - Russell Westbrook and Bradley Bill.
"Westbrook and Bill are pushing Danny forward. They know he's going to be really good later in the season, and even better later in his career," Brooks said.
"They are pushing him forward and there is a reason for that. If they did not think he would be great, they would not do it, trust me," he added.
Brooks also said of the rookie: "I love him and the teammates love him. Before the game I talked to him and told him I was proud of him. He will continue to develop and improve as the season progresses, he will be a good player. "In addition, there was not really a training camp before the season and he missed three weeks in the middle of the season because of the Corona protocol."

Finally, Brooks went on to try to reassure Abdia and said, "I'm sure Michael Jordan also had some bad games in his rookie season. I coached Westbrook as a rookie and he had bad games too."
