August 14, 2018 was a day that marked the beginning of the transportation revolution in Israel, when Bird, the American scooter giant, first launched its services in Israel.

Bird's entry caused a great deal of controversy, as the fear was that the scooters would "destroy" the urban landscape, the scooters would be stolen and the service would lead to a greater mess than the benefit it could yield.

The collaborative scooters, on the other hand, brought the transportation revolution and micro-mobility, tiny means of transportation designed to solve the last-mile problem: from the bus stop to the workplace.

Behind Bird Israel's entry is Yaniv Rivlin, who has been the company's CEO for the past three years in Israel.

Rivlin first heard about Byrd while sitting with a friend from the US on Ben Gurion Boulevard. So he fell in love with the idea. "We are sitting on Ben Gurion Boulevard, looking at the scooters and he asks me: 'Do you know the company Byrd?', So I told him no, but that it was It will be amazing in Israel.

He connected me to a friend who eventually connected to someone in Byrd.

I convinced them why Israel is an amazing place to establish Bird as a first branch.

It was an exciting moment, I was at a wedding.

"During the corona my eyes darkened. There was a drop of over 80%.
