Dutchman Fabio Jakobsen, who suffered a sudden fall on Wednesday at the finish of the first stage of the Tour of Poland cycling race, was declared the stage winner after his compatriot Dylan Groenewegen was disqualified, which resulted in his accident. A few meters before the finish line, Groenewegen (Jumbo-Visma) deported to the right before hampering with his elbow Jakobsen (Deceunick-Quick Step), who flew into the barriers, in a sprint disputed in false flat descending at 80km / h. Jakobsen made a “sun” and hit head-on a racing judge who was at the line, behind a barrier. According to Polish television, the latter is in serious condition, he would have been plunged into an artificial coma. He was reportedly resuscitated on site before being transferred to a hospital.
