OUR TOPS

Mbappé in (great) form before Barcelona

Score: 7/10

All the green lights at PSG before facing Barça?

Almost.

Quiet qualification in the Coupe de France in Brest (0-3), Saturday, without Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe (spared) or Neymar (recovery), returns of Marco Verratti and Angel Di Maria, and especially the confirmation that Kylian Mbappé is in shape.

Two new goals in the collection of the 22-year-old world champion, active and available after a suspension match in Bordeaux (0-1).

He could have scored two more without a recalcitrant post and a saving save from Sébastien Cibois.

Above all, the ex-Monegasque had fiery legs in Brittany, giving off an impression of phenomenal power with each catch of the ball, each acceleration.

Reassuring before challenging Barcelona on Wednesday in C1.

Small concern for Thilo Kehrer (ischios), the only downside.

Louis Carbonel wears Toulon

Note: 8/10

Back at the opening of the RCT after a good month spent with the Blues, Louis Carbonel scored 20 of his team's 25 points (6 penalties and 1 conversion, 100% success) during the success, 25-21, against Racing 92. Its association with Baptiste Serin at the hinge has also given some strength to the Toulon game.

Elected man of the match.

A successful performance which, paradoxically, did not earn him a recall by Fabien Galthié for the rest of the Six Nations Tournament, victim of the recall by Romain Ntamack.

Kevin Mayer, promising a few months before the Olympics

Score: 8/10

The strongest is (almost) always Kevin Mayer.

Record holder in the decathlon, the 29-year-old Frenchman won his second European indoor heptathlon title on Sunday in Torun.

After turning in the lead at the end of the first day after four events (6 sec 86 in 60m, 7.47m in the long jump, 16.32m in weight, 2.04m in height), Mayer did not falter on Sunday (7 sec 78 in 60m hurdles, 5.20m pole vault, 2 min 45 sec 72 over 1000m).

The Frenchman remains a good distance from his European record (6479 points), established four years ago in Belgrade, but he is getting back on the right track after his two failures in his last two Championships (Euro-2018, World -2019).

After having obtained his ticket for the Olympic Games in Reunion in December, Mayer will now be able to launch his free spirit into the preparation for Tokyo where he will try to glean the only major title missing from his superb track record.

OUR FLOPS

Griezmann, transparent against Osasuna

Note: 3/10

Against Osasuna (Barcelona 2-0 victory), the Frenchman regained a starting place after three consecutive matches started on the substitutes' bench.

We can not say that his performance will push Koeman to establish him more ... Never dangerous or almost, he did not weigh on the defense of Osasuna.

Back at half-time, Dembélé was much more restless than his compatriot from his first steps on the lawn.

Griezmann finally gave way to Braithwaite (67th), who did not have the opportunity to distinguish himself.

Liverpool can't do it anymore ...

Score 2/10

The black series continues for the Reds beaten at home by the relegation Fulham (0-1), during the 27th day of the Premier League.

Apathetic for 45 minutes, draft thereafter, Liverpool suffered a sixth consecutive defeat at Anfield in the league, unheard of.

The race for Europe is seriously complicated for the Reds, 7th with 43 points.

They are now two lengths behind West Ham (6th) and three behind Everton (5th), both of whom have two games less, while Chelsea, 4th with four units ahead, have one game less.

Without intensity, without ideas, without confidence, the evil seems to be deep in Liverpool.

The C1 almost seems the last chance for the Reds to put a little color in their end of the season.

La Rochelle wins

Score: 3/10

A loss at home, the first in two years, against Stade Toulousain last week;

another setback Saturday on the lawn of Castres.

For an hour, the Rochelais, unrecognizable, were dominated in all sectors to find themselves left behind 22 to 3. The start of the game was not enough to change the situation (defeat 22-15).

A second consecutive failure - a first since October 2019 - to find itself unhooked by Stade Toulousain, which now has a 7-point lead at the top of the Top 14 standings. Before their next match, a trip to Bordeaux, the Maritimes will benefit three-week break.
