"The US is on the road to having enough Covid vaccines for all Americans by the end of May", two months ahead of forecasts.

Joe Biden moves into fourth gear and sets the arrow, officially announcing a White House-mediated partnership between Merck and Johnson & Johnson's, two of the world's largest traditionally rival pharmaceutical companies, to accelerate the production of J&J single-dose vaccines.

"A collaboration similar to the one we saw in World War II," he stressed, recalling that he had invoked the 'Defense production act', a law dating back to the war with Korea, to adapt two Mercks plants to produce the vaccine.

"This is not the time to let your guard down": Joe Biden said about the obligation to wear a mask, after two American states, Texas and Mississippi, announced the lifting of all restrictions.

After Texas, Mississippi also revokes the requirement for anti-Covid masks and allows activities to operate at full capacity starting tomorrow.

This was announced by Republican Governor Jonathon Tate Reeves, challenging the warning launched yesterday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) not to let your guard down.

Texas removes the mask requirement and removes other restrictions imposed to contain the pandemic.

Governor Greg Abbott announces it.

"It's time to reopen Texas to 100%," says Abbott announcing that starting March 10, all businesses will be open at 100% capacity.

The decision follows the drop in the number of cases in the second largest US state, where 1 million vaccines are now administered a week.
