The outcome, after two weeks of trial, of the so-called bloody cave affair is near.

This Thursday, the Advocate General requested life imprisonment against Rémi Chesne, hairdresser, for the kidnapping and murder in a cave in Sète (Hérault) in 2014 of a hospital officer who had been his wife's lover. years ago.

Before the Assize Court in Montpellier, the Advocate General, Georges Gutierrez, during his requisitions, described this scenario as "Machiavellian and diabolical".

He also requested 10 years in prison against the co-accused, Audrey Louvet.

If she recognized a role of bait, she claims to have ignored the fatal fate that awaited the hospital agent Patrick Isoird in the "bloody cave".

The Advocate General considered that she could not be found guilty of murder but only of kidnapping and forcible confinement.

It was she who led the victim to a "rendezvous with death" but she was "not aware that Rémi Chesne wanted to assassinate Patrick Isoird, 49," continued the magistrate.

In her confession, she had overwhelmed the alleged murderer.

Shot twice, the body found partly charred

Rémi Chesne is accused of having, in 2014, set up an ambush to kill a man who had a one night affair with his wife five years earlier.

The body of this man without history had been found partly charred, pierced to death by two bullets.

"A crime of pride", for the Advocate General

“The secret of the Sète cave is the revenge of a wounded man who savagely executed a brave man,” said the attorney general.

During the trial, Dr. Claude Aiguevives, who assessed Rémi Chesne, explained that the accused "saw himself at the center of a plot".

"Susceptible", "pride and narcissism are very internalized", with him, according to Dr. Aiguevives.

Despite many clues against him, the accused has continued to proclaim his innocence while multiplying the contradictory versions on the past infidelity of his wife with the victim or speaking of "coincidences" on the evidence.

"I did what Rémi told me… I never thought he could kill," for her part assured Friday at the helm Audrey Louvet, 39, a slim figure with long brown hair.

Described by the psychiatrist expert as "fragile" and "subject to others" after a childhood "marked by severe infantile trauma", this mother of two was released on June 11 because of an excessive length of preventive detention.

The declarations of "the bait" are "corroborated by expert opinions and the telephone", underlined the Advocate General.

"This fragile personality, in demand of affection, Chesne understood all the advantage that he could draw from it ... He will manipulate her", explained Georges Gutierrez.

The verdict is expected this Thursday evening or more likely Friday.
