The Advocate General considered that she could not be found guilty of murder but only of kidnapping and forcible confinement.
It was she who led the victim to a "rendezvous with death" but she was "not aware that Rémi Chesne wanted to assassinate Patrick Isoird, 49," continued the magistrate.
In her confession, she had overwhelmed the alleged murderer.

Rémi Chesne is accused of having, in 2014, set up an ambush to kill a man who had a one night affair with his wife five years earlier.

“The secret of the Sète cave is the revenge of a wounded man who savagely executed a brave man,” said the attorney general.
For five years, Rémi Chesne "will foresee everything and set up this Machiavellian, diabolical scenario, this crime of self-esteem" against Patrick Isoird, considered the magistrate of the Assize Court of Montpellier (Hérault).

During the trial, Dr. Claude Aiguevives, who assessed Rémi Chesne, explained that the accused "saw himself at the center of a plot".
"Susceptible", "pride and narcissism are very internalized", with him, according to Dr. Aiguevives.
