The Berlin and Brandenburg audit offices are examining the financial planning for the new BER airport.
Doubts had arisen about her in the past few months.
The aim is to gain the broadest possible examination knowledge, announced the control authorities.
Work is scheduled to begin early next year.
The auditors could also present themselves at the airport company premises.
The state-owned company invited the audit offices to evaluate the 2020 business plan.
Media reports and an expert opinion had previously suggested that the operators overestimated the possible income at BER.
The state parliament in Potsdam also dealt with this.
Airport company considers planning correct
The airport company has repeatedly rejected doubts about its financial planning.
She predicts that the revenue per passenger at BER will be 40 to 50 percent higher than that of the old Tegel and Schönefeld airports.
After the drop in passenger numbers in the corona crisis, airport boss Engelbert Lütke Daldrup assumes that the company will not make a profit until 2025.
Berlin Brandenburg Airport “Willy Brandt” went online at the end of October after years of delays and billions in additional costs.
In contrast to the Brandenburg and Federal Audit Offices, the Berlin control authority had not yet scrutinized BER.
To justify this, the capital's audit office has pointed out in the past that double audits should be avoided.
