British Championship: sixth straight home defeat for Liverpool

Nothing goes for the reigning champions of England.

Sunday afternoon, Liverpool hosted Fulham, 18th in the Premier League, and lost for the sixth time in a row in his den.

Just before half-time, a goal from former Ligue 1 resident Mario Lemina deprived the Reds of valuable points in the race for Europe.

While waiting for the Tottenham match, Liverpool are in seventh place in the Premier League standings.

One series replaces another

The modest London club is thus added to the long list of Liverpool's drop-outs at Anfield alongside Burnley, Brighton, Manchester City, Everton and Chelsea.

This series of six defeats at Anfield is not only appealing because it concerns the defending champion who had stepped on the English championship last season.

To explain this bad patch of the men of Jürgen Klopp, the answer lies partly on the side of a workforce at half mast for a few months.

In October, the serious injury of Virgil Van Dijk, taulier of the defense, was a hard blow to which were added the long unavailability of Joe Gomez, then of Joel Matip, more recently.

A tired attacking trio

On the offensive side, the trio formed by Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané, which lines up matches without a real period of rest, is no longer so formidable.

In addition, the Liverpool attack has only just recovered Diogo Jota, who had established himself as a credible alternative at the start of the season.
