The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Poligrafico e Mint dello Stato presented today the new Numismatic Collection 2021, issued by the MEF and coined by the Italian Mint.

The collection consists of

15 subjects inspired by history, art, sport, science, nature and Italian food and wine excellences that can be

purchased on the e-commerce portal of the Italian Mint, as well as in the points of sale of the Poligrafico and Zecca dello Stato from 26 January.

"The issues covered by this edition are intended to represent a feeling of national union and cohesion that finds expression in the celebration of characters, historical events and artists who are symbols of our tradition and our entrepreneurial culture, but also in gratitude towards those who, in the last year marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, he has put his professionalism without reserve at the service of the community ".

, worth 2 euro and also intended for ordinary circulation, testifying to the recognition of the community in the period of the emergency.

In the coin dedicated to the

invention of the telephone

, the use of copper recalls the telephone token, the coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Italian

Basketball

Federation

is embellished with the rhodium plating technique.

Last but not least, the use of pure gold in coins that evoke the myth of the Lira.
