The Communications and Post Regulatory Authority announced the suspension of the individual authorization for cellular devices, starting from 3/18-2021, for a period of six months.
The authority stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that the decision to suspend the declaration of mobile devices came after ensuring the availability of the devices necessary for the work of all current or wishing subscribers and the availability of the number of mobile devices more than three times the number of current subscribers and in order to give priority to importing the basic materials necessary for the needs of Citizens.
In its statement, the Commission indicated that it will prepare what is necessary to allow the owners of cellular devices to declare their devices that worked on the Syrian network until the date of the enforcement of the decision on 3/18-2021 only, and any cellular device that will work on the Syrian cellular network after this date will be stopped immediately without delay. The possibility of declaring it.
The authority indicated that work procedures will be set up with the General Customs Directorate and the Immigration and Passports Department for those coming to Syria through the border outlets, so that their cellular devices will be allowed to be used for a period of 30 days, provided that they are defined upon their entry from airports or any border ports, and the necessary instructions will be issued in this regard later.
The authority called on all subscribers not to purchase or use any mobile device whose identification numbers do not match the device box number, and to report any maintenance or sale of devices that does not abide by the instructions issued by the authority to take action against it.
It also called on citizens to understand the purpose of the content of the decision issued to focus government efforts on citizens ’essentials in light of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria.
