The Freising vaccination center is running at full speed.

The first priority group should be vaccinated next week.

District

- The vaccination center in Freising is working to the limit of capacity: Almost 400 people in the first priority group are currently being vaccinated every day in the Stein barracks - seven days a week from 7.30 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.

In addition to almost 9,000 first vaccinations, there are now 4,400 second vaccinations (as of March 1st): "That means that by the beginning of next week we will mostly be through with the group of over 80s," reports BRK district manager Albert Söhl.

Therefore, these days the 75 to 80 year olds are receiving mail from their registration offices with information about the further procedure up to the imminent first vaccination.

The rate of vaccination will probably increase as the age of the vaccinees decreases.

The very old people who were up to now simply needed more time - and that would be given to them.

The approximately 2800 doses that are delivered to the vaccination center per week come from the manufacturers Biontech, AstraZeneca and - a significantly smaller amount - from Moderna.

As everywhere, there are a few reservations about the vaccine from AstraZeneca, reports Söhl.

But these are isolated cases.

Anyone who does not get vaccinated with AstraZeneca does not get any other vaccine, but has to quasi back in line (see box).

In two shifts and on two floors

The staff in the vaccination center works in two shifts, which is why reinforcement is always in good use, as Söhl emphasizes.

If you are interested, simply send an email to the BRK Freising (information: www.kvfreising.brk.de).

In the meantime, the vaccination center has been expanded and the kitchen, conference and training room are located on the first floor.

The commitment of the doctors in the district, including some who are already retired, is exemplary, says Söhl.

“You really have to praise that.” The Doctores would receive an expense allowance - “Most of them would do it for free,” emphasizes Söhl.

Vaccination in practices has already been tested

The BRK district manager expects that significantly more vaccine will come at the beginning of April.

Then, as reported, the campaign will be expanded to include some general practitioners' practices.

The goal is 1500 vaccinations daily.

However, the concrete political guidelines were still missing, as Söhl emphasizes.

After all: Prime Minister Markus Söder is fully behind the "family doctor model".

How vaccination could work in a family doctor's practice has just been tested in a pilot project in a Zollinger practice and the dentists and their staff have been vaccinated.

That went smoothly.

Vaccination for teachers and daycare staff

The Freising District Office is currently organizing a series of vaccinations for "people working in primary schools and day-care centers", as it is officially called.

The first vaccination will take place from Friday March 12th to Sunday March 14th, the second vaccination will take place nine weeks later.

It is planned to vaccinate the prioritized group of people at a central location in the district - but it is not yet clear where that will be.

Everyone who works in elementary schools and day-care centers can get an appointment - regardless of whether they live in the district or not.

It only depends on the place of activity in the district, informed the district office.

The inquiries about willingness to vaccinate and registration are carried out by the school principals and daycare center managers.

The vaccine from AstraZeneca is intended for vaccination.

Exception: People under 18 and over 65 years of age are vaccinated with the Biontech vaccine.

The allocation of the vaccine is binding and cannot be changed.
