While a third confinement seems to be looming - after that of November, during which the schools had remained open, Jean-Michel Blanquer, the Minister of National Education, explains to the Journal du dimanche that he again wishes to keep the schools open.
"I prefer the terms that prevailed in November, with open establishments, especially since we see a posteriori that our strategy has worked," explained Jean-Michel Blanquer.

Regarding the health situation within National Education, it "allows school continuity", says Jean-Michel Blanquer to the JDD.
“The curve is comparable to that after the All Saints holidays: we went from 600 declared cases per day to a plateau reaching around 2,000 - 2,500 daily cases,” reveals the minister.
On several thousand tests carried out within the National Education, we have today the same rate of positivity as in December.
