2021-03-17T18:34:46.204Z

DECRYPTION - Spotted at the Lannion hospital center three weeks ago, this new strain seems to escape detection by PCR carried out after a usual sample.

It is not yet a "worry variant", unlike the English (B.1.1.7), South African (B.1.351) or Brazilian (P.1) variants.

But a strain of Sars-CoV-2 carrying several new mutations has appeared in France and is part of the WHO “variant to watch” category.

This "Breton" variant was spotted at the Lannion hospital center (Côtes-d'Armor) three weeks ago.
