Dante700: DanteDì, Emilia Romagna celebrates it on Thursday

(ANSA) - BOLOGNA, MARCH 23 - Flashmob, online exhibitions, tertianzedantesques via whatsapp, streaming concerts, conferences with illustrious Dante artists.

The Pandemic does not stop Emilia Romagna, which on Thursday 25 March celebrates Dante and the Divine Comedy.

March 25, the day of 'DanteDì', is the date that the studios recognize as the beginning of the journey into the afterlife of the Divine Comedy and which is nationally recognized as a day dedicated to the Supreme Poet.


    In the year of the celebrations for the 700th anniversary of Dante's death, the 2021 edition of DanteDì represents one of the most important tributes to Italian culture in the world.

In Emilia-Romagna, where Dante spent a good part of his life, various events are organized that wind their way through the "Dante cities": Ravenna, Rimini, Faenza, Forlì and Forlimpopoli, but also Castel San Pietro, Parma and Modena.

Institutional, literary, exhibition and performative events are scheduled, both online and live.


    In Ravenna, in particular, the mayor Michele De Pascaler will renew the ritual of topping up the oil that burns in the perennial lamp and that the Florentines donated to honor the poet.

Then the usual perpetual reading of the Divine Comedy, part of the project 'L'ora che volge il disìo' which sees, every day, artists and citizens alternate to declaim the songs of the manuscript at Dante's Tomb: to declaim the Canto XXV of Paradiso, in particular, will be the actor and director MassimoFinazzer Flory.

Rimini is celebrated by projecting from sunset 24 to dawn 25, on the municipal buildings in the heart of the city, the performances of one hundred students from 21 universities of the 5 continents who on 8 March performed, live and in streaming, the universes of Francesca da Rimini language of their country.

AFaenza, waiting to open to the public, the virtual exhibition 'Homage to Dante' will be digitally inaugurated on the Library's social eyoutube channels, in the Sala del Settecento, which exhibits Dante's editions and documentary material on the Poet.


    On the occasion of 'DanteDì' the topics of the exhibition 'Dante e gli Este will also be anticipated.

Reflections of the Comedy between Modena and Ferrara ', scheduled from 3 September 2021 to 25 March 2022 at the Modena State Archives.
