The National Agency for Regulation, Control and Sanitary Surveillance (Arcsa) of Ecuador, issued this Sunday the authorization for the use of the vaccine against covid-19 developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford.
The statement details that the Agency authorized the importation of the vaccine in approximately five million doses, which will be applied to 2.5 million Ecuadorians.

According to the Ministry of Health, within the framework of negotiations with different laboratories around the world, Ecuador ensures 18 million doses that will be used to vaccinate 9 million Ecuadorians, which will make it possible to immunize 60% of the population this year.
