The Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, met today with the Council of the Veterinarians Association, where it was stressed the need to activate the role of veterinarians in monitoring the safety of food of animal origin, contributing to preserving public health and presenting constructive ideas and thoughtful scientific proposals to develop the reality of livestock and combat diseases to which they are exposed.
Engineer Arnous emphasized that veterinarians are an essential part and component of the work of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform and they must take their full role in a way that contributes to the development of the sector, especially in the animal apartment, with the need to conduct an administrative and technical description of the tasks that the veterinarian performs, indicating that there are basic areas of work that must be Added to the functions of veterinarians are the ministries of agriculture, local administration, environment, domestic trade and consumer protection.
The Prime Minister called on veterinarians to actively participate in seminars, workshops and specialized scientific conferences, and to work to find solutions to the difficulties and obstacles facing the reality of livestock, and to develop veterinary medicines of all kinds.
The interventions focused on updating the internal regulations and implementing regulations in the ministries in which the veterinarians work, noting the specialization in job descriptions ... and giving them a role in supervising poultry and cattle farms ... as well as granting them the authority to deal with emergency situations that confront livestock.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Qais Khader.
