He said three boys died after being washed away and a girl drowned.

According to Kurnianto, some 1,700 people were still in emergency accommodation even though many residents have started returning home.

The floods affected 200 neighborhoods of the megalopolis and 40 of them were still under at least 30 cm of water on Sunday.

Last year, the city experienced one of the deadliest floods in years, with downpours also leading to landslides.

At least 67 people in the capital and its outskirts died in the disaster.
