Generali is ready to support small businesses in the trade, which in Italy number more than 1.7 million with over 4 million workers, with the aim of becoming a reference partner in the micro-enterprise segment in three years.

"Generali, with 190 years of solidity, today wants to be ever closer to entrepreneurs for the economic recovery and stability of the country. This year's first solution, Attiva Commercio, is dedicated precisely to supporting micro-enterprises in the trade. , central to the Italian production fabric ", says the country manager and CEO of Generali Italia, Marco Sesana, highlighting that the company is committed to" responding to the priorities of the entrepreneurs in this sector, among the most affected by the crisis, to restart quickly and seize new opportunities ".

The new solution was presented in a press conference in live streaming, flanked by the multi-financial research Ipsos 2021, in which it is highlighted that from December 2020 the confidence of Italian companies returns to improve (from 60 points in May 2020 to more than 87 in February 2021), however, for the trade sector, made up of 95% micro-enterprises with fewer than 10 employees, about 1 in 2 entrepreneurs say they are worried about the stability of their business.

To engage the recovery, five priorities are highlighted by the Ipsos research: guaranteeing business continuity (for 47% of companies), obtaining administrative simplification (160,000 regulations in Italy vs 3,000 in the United Kingdom), seizing digital opportunities (37 % intend to invest in e-commerce in the next two years), invest in the well-being and protection of people (for 56% of entrepreneurs), give greater impetus to exports (+ 31% the SMEs that have opened in the last two years abroad).

"Italian companies - underlines Generali - have been a point of reference for people and communities even during the Covid emergency".

According to the 2020 SME Welfare Index Report, more than 80% of SMEs have activated actions to be close to workers and families during the pandemic.

To support this system of businesses, Generali has paid 110,000 free monthly payments since May (70% to the retail sector), supported by a daily allowance for business interruption, 6,000 commercial businesses, provided Covid-19 health coverage for 2.5 million workers, free medical teleconsultation offered to 20,000 workers.

"Our model for business development - explains Sesana - offers widespread advice on the territory and solutions with more prevention, assistance, services and digital; it promotes a new, more sustainable business culture; accompanies Made in Italy in the world by protecting activities and workers. Doing business well today means being there to generate the future ".

Attiva Commercio is the new solution that protects businesses, people, assets and data and provides the small business owner with the excellence of Generali's "Life Partner" offer and consultancy with more prevention, assistance, services and digital: from protection for "home delivery" to the emergency department due to business interruption;
