Today, the World Health Organization expects that about 237 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine against Coronavirus will be delivered to 142 countries by the end of next May.
Reuters quoted WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus as saying during a press conference, "It is expected that the vaccine shipments will be delivered through the global Kovacs initiative to Angola, Cambodia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Nigeria."
Ghana's President Nana Akufo Addo said that his country, which started its dose vaccination campaign through the Kovacs mechanism, is seeking to vaccinate 20 million citizens by the end of 2021.
And the World Health Organization announced that less than ten percent of the world's population had acquired immunity against the Corona virus.
