In the new year, there will again be heavy dredging in the district: a preview of the most important road construction sites in 2021 - and two even larger projects that are looming on the horizon.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - New year, new plans: If you look to the year 2021 in terms of road construction, the first thing that stands out in the district is the Tölzer Nordspange (see box).

Before that, however, other projects are pending - and before drivers can benefit from improved and safer roads, they first have to put up with some significant traffic obstructions.

In an interview with the Tölzer Kurier, Martin Herda, head of department in the Weilheim state building authority responsible for the district, explains the most important construction sites - not without pointing out that everything is still subject to budget approval.

B11 north of Icking

A federal highway closed for three weeks: This is the scenario that drivers in the northern district will have to prepare for the summer holidays in 2021.

"We are renewing the road from the Icking exit - that is, from the end of Wolfratshauser Berg - for six kilometers beyond Icking," Herda announced.

Because it is primarily an "everyday traffic connection" and less a tourist route, the plan is to carry out the work during the holidays.

The costs are estimated at 1.2 to 1.3 million euros.

As part of this project, the authority is also having a piece of cycle path built along the B11.

According to Herda, only a 600-meter-long section of the planned Ebenhausen-Icking connection will initially be built in the Munich district between Ebenhausen and Gut Holzen.

But a lot has been gained from that.

“In order to get further to Icking, you can use an existing network of paths without having to cycle on the main road.” To continue building the cycle path towards the south, “we currently don't have a reason,” says Herda.

Driveway Tölz-West

The defusing of a danger point, where there was last a fatal accident in 2016, was actually already on the program for 2020, but has now been delayed until May or June 2021.

Then the State Building Authority wants to improve the situation for left-turners who want to drive from the state road 2064 to the B472 towards Tölz at the former “greenhouse” for 1.5 million euros.

As reported, these drivers are to be guided through an expanded, existing underpass and then via a new threading lane onto the federal road.

According to Herda, there will be no traffic restrictions for users of the B472 during the construction work, only the driveway will be closed.

St2065 in Münsing

2.5 million euros are earmarked for the expansion of State Road 2065, which leads from St. Heinrich via Holzhausen and Münsing to the Starnberg district.

"We will block the first half of the money this year," says Herda.

That means: the entire asphalt between Holzhausen and Münsing will be replaced.

"In addition, we will improve the line, defuse a few curves and remove knolls." This requires a full closure.

Pass through Zell

The roadway renewal on Dietramszeller Ortsdurchfahrt is in its third year.

After completion of construction phases 1 and 3, the area in the middle at the level of the monastery and south of it is still outstanding.

"We will not renew the roadway here until 2022", says Herda.

In anticipation of this, the construction of drainage systems and a rain retention basin is on the agenda this year, as well as the renewal of a culvert for the Zeller Bach.

According to Herda, this is associated with “a few weeks of full closure”.

Around 300,000 euros will be built here this year.

District road Töl 7

A major road construction chapter for 2020 will be continued this year: the renovation of Töl 7 on the reservoir north of Bad Tölz.

To secure the sagging road, work was carried out under full closure from July to the end of October last year.

According to Herda, there is still some remaining work to be done this year, and the roadway will be given a new surface layer.

Incidentally, it should be noise-reducing so that the residents of the Hoheneck suffer less noise.

“There will be another three weeks of full closure,” Herda announced.

“We're just not sure when.

It could be during the Whitsun or summer holidays. ”Of the total project costs of 2.4 million euros, one million euros will be built this year.

Töl 13 Reichersbeuern

The district is investing one million euros in the connection between Reicherbeuern and the federal highway 13, which crosses the railway line, according to Herda, an expansion with a slight widening of the carriageway is planned between the B 13 and the railway line;

Bike path on the B 13

According to Herda, one cycle path project that the State Building Authority would like to "advance as far as possible" this year is the connection on the eastern side of the B 13 from Tölz to Lenggries.

"We are still in the approval phase," says the department head.

The current preparations focus on the section from Tölz to the confluence of Töl 16 near Gaißach.

If you can actually start building, the first thing to do is a bridge over the Steinbach.
