The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, Hassan Montazer Turbati, announced that Iran's gas exports have increased by 100 percent since 2013.
In an interview with the Iranian news agency IRNA today, Turbati said, “In 2013, about 9 billion cubic meters of Iranian gas were exported, while it increased to 18 billion cubic meters in the current year, indicating a growth of 100 percent,” noting that the main contracts for the export of gas were Mainly intended for neighboring countries.
Turbati added that the strongest idea is to export Iranian gas to Europe, but the political conditions and the sanctions imposed against Iran are among the most important reasons for not implementing this idea.
