The Executive Director of the National Iranian Gas Company, Hassan Montazeri Turbati, announced that Iranian gas production is now recording one billion cubic meters per day.
"The volume of Iranian gas production is equivalent to 6 million barrels of oil," Trabati was quoted by the Iranian Fars News Agency as saying during a press conference on the sidelines of the 25th session of the Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Exhibition today, explaining that the volume of consumption witnessed an increase due to the decrease in the weather temperature in addition to the gas supply to the stations. It ranges between 100 and 130 million cubic meters per day.
He pointed out that domestic consumption accounts for the majority of gas consumption by more than 600 million cubic meters per day, stressing that gas exports from Iran to a number of neighboring countries are continuing.
