The players of Maccabi Tel Aviv and Shakhtar Donetsk will have to be extra careful on Thursday in the rematch of the last 32 rounds.
The reason: The game will be managed by referee Jose Sanchez Martins, who really likes to pull out cards everywhere.
But if there is anyone who needs to be more careful than everyone else about the 37-year-old Spaniard, it is Maur Kandil.
Martinez refereed two games of Israeli teams in Europe and he maintains a one-time statistic: In those two games he handed Kandil no less than three yellows.
In July 2017, Bnei Yehuda hosted Slovakia's Trenchen in the Europa League qualifiers and the right-back received a first yellow card from the Spaniard in the 20th minute and a second yellow card in the 80th minute after a wide dive.
Two years have passed and Maccabi Tel Aviv was hosted by Cluj in the Champions League qualifiers.
Kandil started in Vladan Ivic's squad and again absorbed the Spaniard in the 80th minute.
Luckily, this time it was his first and last yellow.

Martinez is a referee captain who really likes to put his hand in his pocket.
In the 256 career games he has managed in all settings, he has drawn 1,481 yellow cards and 80 red cards.
Over the years he maintains very nicely an average that ranges around 5.5-5.8 yellow cards per game, but sometimes even goes out of his way.
This season, for example, he drew 9 yellows and a red in the Europa League qualifier between Sarajevo and Podogorica and 9 yellows in a derby between Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad in the league.
Last season he pulled out 10 yellows and one red in the match between Hattafa and Salta Vigo.
Martins, by the way, also previously managed two games of the Israeli youth team (U19), against Bulgaria and France in 2017.
Against the first, a game that ended in 1: 1, to the credit of Alon Hazan's players, 5 yellow cards were drawn and a penalty was awarded.
