Netflix has announced the launch of a new feature that expands the ability to download content to a smartphone automatically.

The "Downloads for you" feature will allow you to automatically download TV series and movies based on the user's taste and viewing history into the smartphone.

After activating the feature, the storage space of the series and movies can be limited, with Netflix recommending a choice between 1GB, 3GB or 5GB, and the download will take place when the smartphone is connected to wireless internet.

"We are excited to present the feature downloads for you. Users can enjoy recommendations based on their personal viewing taste," said Patrice Fleming, director of product innovation at Netflix.

"We want users to discover new content in a convenient way, through our feature."

After watching episodes or movies, you can delete them from your smartphone, and the download will start again when you connect to the wireless internet.

Netflix notes that the entire catalog of series and movies is available for download, not just the content it has produced itself.

However, she notes that there may be licensing restrictions on content not produced by her.

The new feature is added to the one it launched in 2018 and allows for smart content downloading.

The feature launched in 2018 allows the user to select content to watch offline.

After the user watches the first episodes, these are deleted and Netflix automatically downloads the next episodes.

The American streaming giant has announced that the new feature has already been tested during 2020, but it is now available to everyone, all over the world, with the first users to benefit from it being Android users and then iOS version users.

During the tests, Netflix noticed high levels of feature use, especially in the United States, but the feature is generally intended for emerging markets, such as those that do not have stable Internet access, such as India, Brazil and regions in the Pacific Asia.
