A new 5.9 magnitude earthquake rocked central Greece on Thursday evening, the day after a 6.3 earthquake in the same region, said the Athens Seismological Observatory.

The authorities did not immediately report a victim.
The new earthquake took place near Larissa, 250 km north of Athens, where an earthquake on Wednesday left eleven people injured, one of whom was serious, damaged a hundred buildings and created a wave of panic among the inhabitants.
